| Re: Roger Live! Well what does one say about his first live Floyd experience? I guess the fact that I've listened to In The Flesh many times meant that I knew what would be next (and what it would sound like) most of the time. What I wasn't ready for was the strength of those songs in quadrophonic, ear filling orgasmo-sound; or the sheer beauty of Pink Floyd music in a live forum; or the mind blowing concept that the fellow on stage waving or conducting the audience was Roger f***ing Waters. Myself and those I was there with all agreed it was the best live show we had ever / will ever see. The band was tight (although some other chaps I had met before the show were much closer than I was to the stage, and said Roger made a few stuff ups). Harry Waters did an EXCELLENT job on the keyboards, and in my opinion was more faithful to the originals than the versions on In The Flesh. The guitar solos also seemed more faithful to the originals than In The Flesh. Highlights? The Sound, as I have already mentioned, was superb. The visuals were tasteful and appropriate (predictable images during The Wall songs, Syd's face during Shine on, a real cool film during Money, a visual tribute to William Hubbard a the end of Amused to Death etc). As far as particular songs go: Shine On IN ITS ENTIRITY was special, particularly Harry Waters rendition of the final part; Graham Broads drum solo at the beginning of Time, I found myself grinning like an idiot it was just so good; PP Arnold's solo effort during perfect sense part one; dualing guitar solos at the end of Comfy Numb (I always thought it sucked without Gilmour...but there I was grinning like a fool again); and hearing flickering flame live. Waters seemed in good spirits most of the show. At times he looked a bit like he was going through the motions, but for the most part it seemed he enjoyed it. I don't know how the Sydney crowd compared to the shows from the past weeks, but I felt a really good vibe in the audience, who were obviously very appreciative. Standing ovations to CN, and thunderous applause to most other tunes (my hands hurt). Waters voice was sounding very good I thought. I'm pretty sure he lip-sinked some of the more difficult parts (conclusion to every strangers eyes). He had his trademark bass-playing style out in full force. He also seemed to enjoy the fact that walking to a particular side of the stage would result in the audience on that side waving at him or standing up. I wish my memory of the whole thing was a little better, but I was enjoying it so much that I just didn't want to go making mental notes of various things. For those of you lucky enough to be seeing him, enjoy! He is one of the greats. Style 10/10 Performance 10/10

| Re: Roger Live! Driven!I'm glad you enjoyed Roger's show. I've never been sure how I would like a Roger solo show after seeing 1 Roger-Dave-Rick-Nick show (Animals tour) and 2 shows during the 1987/1988 and 1994/1995 Dave-Rick-Nick tours, but if you give it a thumbs up, maybe I should reconsider - I trust your Floydian judgement...

| Re: Roger Live! Having been in the company of Mr Driven, I'd have to concur with just about everything that has been said previously. Roger Waters: A lean, mean, lip-synching machine. Cheers all, Mark

| Re: Roger Live! Madcap...thought you'd seen him (????) Sydney...at least he came to Oz, but I know how pissed I was when Pink Floyd didn't come to Oz in '94, so I can understand your feelings. TerminalFrost...I haven't seen any Floyd before so I can't make comparisons. All I can say is I wasn't disappointed, and it was better than I could have imagined. Fixxy...one not to be forgotten buddy!

| Re: Roger Live! The show was fantastic. I especially loved Shine on, Welcome to the Machine (the sound effect right at the end that nearly made my head inplode!!) and his Amused to Death material. Flickering Flame was a surprise addition, but i didn't quite get the lyrics, like Driven i was just taking it all in. All in all, a wonderful experience that i will cherish. PS to Sydney. On Saturday i grabbed the DVD In the Flesh concert, which will give you the exact same show that we saw. The visuals on the back wall aren't quite the same, the playlist in the first half is changed slightly, and there are 1 or 2 different musicians, but apart from that it's basically the same show. Cheers. _________________ ...there's no dark side of the moon really,...matter of fact its all dark....

| Re: Roger Live! What a show, I still cannot believe that I have seen and heard Mr Waters live. The entire concert seemed to be over in 10 minutes. And how good was PP Arnold. I thought the entire concert should replace that of the In the Flesh CD......did anyone happen to record the concert, thought it was much more musically superior to that of the American concerts. Dogs was my favourite tune played on the night followed by all the material from Amused to Death and Shine on...... Already want him to come back !!! ( Come on Roger...forget Lebanon !!)

| Re: Roger Live! Yeah I wasn't sure if it was the volume of the concert, or if it was, in fact, better than ITF. I think probably a bit of both.
