Yes, Roger was actually quite angered by Dave's Floyd (heh) filling up venues while Roger screamed to empty stadiums.

I still don't think this had anything to do with the quality of the shows... the KAOS bootlegs I've heard far surpass the quality of the Momentary Lapse tour. The discrepency in numbers was just about who had the name "Pink Floyd." Dave's 1984 solo tour did just as poor business as (if not poorer than) Roger's KAOS shows did.

"A New Machine" may or may not be about Roger, but "A Great Day For Freedom" is most definitely not. Dave has categorically denied this.

Wasn't that an attempt to write a song about the Berlin wall?

really the only track that sticks out in mind as talking about waters is "Poles Apart" from the Division Bell if you read the lyrics almost seems like it was about the tention between waters and gilmour when waters was still in the band along with the other members

Re: A New Machine 1 & 2 About Roger Waters???

You're pretty well spot on. The second verse of "Poles Apart" is the only thing that Samson/Gilmour ever admitted to writing about Roger. The first verse is about Syd, and the third is just some vague bullocks about something or other.
