I dug out my homemade "The Massed Gadgets Of Auximenes" CD recently and enjoyed listening to it again, so I thought that I'd share it with the good folks here on the forum. If you are motivated and already have most of the early official Pink Floyd albums, then you can make this CD that was planned to be released by Pink Floyd back in 1969, but never came about.
Just follow the link at the bottom for detailed instructions how to make the CD. You will need to download 3 unreleased songs and there is even cover art to download too. In addition to this, you'll need to have the following official albums: Relics, Ummagumma, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, More, and A Saucerful of Secrets.
The following quote was pulled from the Pink Floyd Hyperbase Quote:
'The Man and the Journey' were one of Pink Floyd's early concept-shows performed the first time April 14, 1969 in Royal Festival Hall, London. The event was titled 'The Massed Gadgets Of Auximenes - More Furious Madness From Pink Floyd'. Both parts of the show contained of improvisations around different Floyd songs, many of them closely related to the soundtrack from the film More, which was written simultaniously.
A recording of the show was meant to be released, but cancelled because most of the material was already released in other versions. 'The Man and the Journey' is only available on bootleg-recordings. One recording circulating is done by dutch radio VPRO in Amsterdam September 17, 1969. A part of the show was recorded for the radio-show 'Top Gear' on May 12, 1969. The recording has been released on the more ore less official italian CD: 'Pink Floyd - The Complete Top Gear Sessions' (GDR CD 9206/AB).
