On the Run

hm, tricky one here...

would anyone happen to know the 8 note sequence looped in this song? I'm pretty sure that you can see dave play the notes in on the dsotm dvd but I haven't been bothered to look that closely with notepaper...

oh well, if you know it'd be a great help, thank you all my beauties.

I doubt anyone knows, your best bet is to watch on the dvd. I know what you're talking about, and i'm sure you can see the notes and write it down.

The notes Dave uses on the DVD aren't the same ones as on the album.

It's a true story....

Even though the notes aren't exactly the same.. the intervals are.. You just need to figgure out what key the original was in and play that interval over that key..

Because when he speeds it up, it just doesn't sound the same.

I think the sequence on the album is "d e E g a g d c", the uppercase E being an octave below the lowercase one, and the other notes in between. I think Shane's right, Dave plays something a little different on the DVD. Possibly to do with the second "g" and "d" notes, I'm not completely sure.

Ive been looking for ways to play that song all over the internet...no luck. All i found was this (bass tab)

|--------------------------------
|----------------7h8h9h10---
|--7h8h9h10------------------
|--------------------------------

over and over. I have no idea what effects to use for guitar or how to get them to sound like gilmour.
