ART anyone?

It was hard to come up with a proper title for this thread because Music and Literature IS art, but in this thred lets discuss our favorite painters, sculpters, ECT. My favorite type is Surrealism, here are my favorite painters....
Dali
Van Gogh
Rivera
Munch
Hopper
Braques
Mattise.
Hmm, I must of spelled some of those wrong, these are my favorite artists....what are yours!

Re: ART anyone?

I do believe there's already a thread on this topic. Old, but there, nontheless.

Have a nice day.

Re: ART anyone?

Dali wasn't a part of the surrealist movement. You may mock, but the man himself would have also denied having any ties to them. Apart from the fact that the entire movement was Seville based, he was on such a different tip.

It's really only through mis- informed contemporary association that he has become the figurehead for this bunch of pre-abstractors.

He also wasn't a terrifically talented artist, but he was one hell of a draughtsman.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: ART anyone?

I like Dali. Also M C Escher.

I don't know anything about art, but I always assumed Dali was a surrealist.

Re: ART anyone?

Escher was more a flipping mathematical genius also. His compositions exactly hit you between the left and the right hemispheres, leaving you 'open to confusion' and it's all done on a blackboard, kids.

Wow!
