| everyone i know that listens to real music (Pink Floyd, of course) says that Wish You Were Here is one of their favorite songs. Fair enough. So i'm curious... just the music and lyrics to the song make me burn in heartache due to a former love who shared the same love for Floyd that i do. i can almost last the whole song up until the 3 minute break without wanting to cry... does anyone else here feel the way i do? |

| Re: *(*Who/what do u think of when you hear Wish You Were Here??*)* I don't get to the point where I cry from hearing the music, but I do get a tingly feeling in my skull that pulsates whenever I hear a Floyd song. ![]() |

| Re: *(*Who/what do u think of when you hear Wish You Were Here??*)* Whenever I hear WYWH (album) I think - my, how overrated this is. Oooh, and that WTTM song really is appalling.

| Re: *(*Who/what do u think of when you hear Wish You Were Here??*)* The only great song on that album is SOYCD part 1, BTW when are you going to be on at msn again Kris?

| Re: *(*Who/what do u think of when you hear Wish You Were Here??*)* WYWH as an album is a little too air-puffed. There's just not enough substance to rate it better or on par with Dark Side. SOYCD has a lot of very slow and useless noodling before getting to the juicy singing parts. Though the Part 8 (or 9?) funk jam is one of their best jams they've done. Rick's synth solo is just a little too longwinded in WTTM. HAC is an OK rocker but isn't that innovative, except for the funny segue at the end that freaks out people with high-end equipment. WYWH the song though is a great song. |

| Re: *(*Who/what do u think of when you hear Wish You Were Here??*)* I think the song WYWH is a fine example of the magic chemistry that waters & gilmour had, waters' brilliant insightful lyrics r the perfect marriage to DG's lovely guitar arrangement I also like the slow useless noodling & long winded synth parts featured on the WYWH album
