The Matrix was a great movie, The Matrix Reloaded was shite and the last one was complete and utter bollocks.

Revolutions was, admit it, a big payoff, and if you people could get out of your "sequel" mindset for just a damn minute and look at Reloaded and Revolutions for what they are, you might appreciate them more. Sure, the Matrix 1 could have existed without any sequels at all. But the two sequels did a great job of building on the Matrix story. That's all they did. They didn't top it, they didn't enhance it, they just BUILT on it. That's why they may not seem as great as the first movie, but that's just it. They don't have to be as great as the first. In my opinion, they were kick-ass movies just the same.

Dertjer you should see Revolutions, its the second half of reloaded. I dunno how you could go without it. Reloaded is like the slow movement of a symphony, it might be boring at times, but its neccesary to the piece as a whole. And while its not as good as the first, revolutions is better than reloaded.

Now everyone has to buy the same DVDs again for just some extra footage! Just wait until Return of the King Extended Edition or whatever comes out on DVD. Next christmas we'll have a 24 disc LOTR set packed with useless extra footage we're never going to watch!

I didn't mind the 3rd one, but it didn't hold a candle to the first one. The second one was terrible. I felt like when I was watching the Zion scenes I was watching MTV.

I'm certainly not going to buy that set, I've got the rest on DVD already.

But about the rankings: I think the second one was vastly superiour to the other 2...now the first one was good, but the second one just was so much better. Reloaded was fresh and intense...the story wasn't half bad, though these movies weren't exactly about plot (though they had good plots, considering what they were). Revolutions was a bit dissappointing, but not bad. I think it was rushed, and almost turned into a money grab.

They're all great movies! I can see how someone may not like reloaded, as it doesn't lend itself particularly well to repeat viewing, BUT, having seen revolutions a few times you learn to appreciate it!

And lets not forget that they are just movies...
