Yea, he's right. The radio really doesn't have much to offer. (Except of course 104.5 in philly right now, since they are playing nothing but christmas music until Christmas!!!) But anyway, I think the best way to discover good new bands is simply checking out a band if someone suggests them to you. I've found several great bands from friends lending me cd's and from lovely users like you here at APFFN recomending things.

It's just harder to find good music these days, as we are pushed to buy the crap, but there's some gold out there. I'm just amazed that at one time one could listen to a live Tangerine Dream concert on the radio. And now look what's on the radio!?

I'm a big fan of granite (pink not grey) it's good rock as far as I'm concerned...limestone is not as good. I would say limestone is bad rock.
