Dave's 1984 tour video

What does everyone think of Dave's 1984 tour video? I recently acquired it when my dad found it at a garage sale. I popped it into my VCR and it quickly exceeded my basement-level expectations. By and far, the versions of his solo songs on this video are superior to the original studio versions. I was also pleasantly surprised when Roy Harper made an appearance for "Short and Sweet." Sadly, though the Amazing Bongo Jim's appearance on "Comfortably Numb" did not enhance the performance of the song. Also detracting from CN was the fact that the credits started to roll during Dave's second solo. My favorite moment was when the keyboardist jumped out from behind his instruments with a keytar to play the keyboard solo for "Run Like Hell." At that moment I knew that this was filmed during the 80s.

After the live performance were two music videos: "Blue Light" and "All Lovers Are Deranged." I didn't think much of latter, but after watching the former, I can safely say that all of the various negative things that have been said about it are very true.

After those two videos was a documentary. It was OK, but the compositing that was used whenever a TV was turned on was very annoying. Additionally, if I hear "All Lovers Are Deranged" more time, I will go insane. I heard the song twice (live performance & promotional video), then I heard various snippets of it during the documentary, and then it finally was played over the credits.
