Roger's anger and disillusionment Were there any particular reasons Roger began to feel this way? How did Roger's father play a part in in a Roger's change in attitude (if at all)? Please humour me. I'm just interested to read what everybody thinks. I tried searching for a similar thread, but I couldn't find one that said exactly what I wanted to say. If I have missed one, I apologise in advance.

Check out the "Classic Albums" DVD that discusses the making of Dark Side. You'll get quite a lot of explanation from Roger about his motivations behind the lyrics and how his world view shaped them.

Apparently in 1972 he realized that life was not a rehearsal for something to come after, and decided to write about that.

...And he realized that his perception of time shaped his approach to life and he decided to make a concept album based on how people's perception of time, money, religion, humanity, etc. shape their lives and who are they are and cause them to become either humane/inhumane, greedy/generous, mad, etc.
