Re: PINK FLOYD'S MUSIC: SOUNDTRACK TO HISTORY (Part 2): "Wot's...Uh the Deal" and The Book of Joshua

Now compare the 1972 Pink Floyd tune "Wot's...Uh the Deal?" and the Book of Joshua (and the end of Deuteronomy) from the Bible. Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land which God had given to the Israelites, for punishment for not having Faith in Him in the desert (Numbers Chapter 20). But Moses was allowed to look at the Promised Land from a distance (Deuteronomy 3:26-27). Now look at the lyrics: "Heaven sent the Promised Land, and I grabbed it with both hands. But I'm the man on the outside looking in..."
But Moses' succesor, the obidient Joshua was given the inheritance of the land across the Jordan, the land God had promised the Children of Israel. "Someone sent the Promised Land, and I grabbed it with both hands. Now I'm the man on the inside looking out. Hear me shout, "Come on in! What's the news? Where you been?"
(*Note: If Pink Floyd DID in fact base the lyrics for "Wot's...Uh the Deal?" on the Bible event described, I never heard about it, so I may look weird if they did.*)

An interesting thought. Seems a bit far fetched, there are alot of things that you could relate song lyrics to. Waters of course does have a knack for (satirically and subtley) referencing the bible.
