Hmm... interesting so far. I found the first fade in breathe a bit disconcerting... the timing slowed down a bit. But quite nice so far. Will edit when i have listened to the whole thing.

Nice work.

I'm listening to it right now. "Breathe", "On the Run", "Time", and "Any Colour You Like" are my favorites.

this is great. I thought the song after breathe in this was called "The travel section"?Sounds like ya took clips from that dvd and put it in there.

Thanks! Traveling Sequence was the working title to On The Run

The live version is from a Bootleg recorded at the Rainbow Theater, in Feb of 72.

There is a clip on the DVD from the same concert, but from a different song (Breathe) this is not the clip I used.

It's alright, a bit too long maybe and with too little deviation from the master album. There are other alternate takes floating around... the all-sax-solo version of Us and Them, and the demo versions of Time and Money. You could maybe incorporate those for an updated mix.

I'm not a fan of those stereo effects either, just my personal preference though... and I HATE what the mp3 compression did to my lovverly beautiful Dark Side! Why oh why did you downsample to 32kHz when you could have kept it at 44 with the same filesize?

waaaa waaa waaa hahahaha

I'm surpirsed... look dude, I was just "f&#king around". Its not intended to be perfect for obvious copyright reasons. As far as it not deviating much... thats the entire point, not to. Its just a "what if". Ya dig?

This was originally intended for my own enjoyment. After playing it on the radio, the response in favor was so overwhelming, I decided, what the hell, i'll share it.

The other demo and outtakes you talk about... I did try all those and them some. Believe me, they didn't work well when it came down to mixing, which is why you don't hear them in my mix and probably the original album for that matter. The demo version of "Time" and "Money" (Roger's demos) were not included because they are so far off, and so ruff, it was next to impossible to mix in (and they sound really aweful).

I challenge anyone to try and do better

The MP3 is only so people can download it (so whatever). The original here on my machine is WAV (industry standard) and it is at 44. This remix was not downsampled so I'm Not sure where you're getting that from.

Oh well. I appreciate your feedback, nonetheless.

I noticed you used the solo on time from the DVD. The solo from that 1972 Rainbow Theater is also very good and intersting. Its cool to see how they played the material differently across the years.

After listening to the whole thing... I liked everything except how you did the last two songs... on brain damage acoustic was alright for the verses , but it would have been better to have left the chorus unmolestered.

Thats cool. The first chorus of Brain Damage was how it was originally intended/recorded. You'll notice this from watching Pompeii.

I really enjoy the "Time" solo and how you have Davids version from the DVD start it off and then "BAM!" right back into the album! That rocks! It would have been cool to maybe throw some of the live solos from the 70's in there also. Maybe next time?
By the way, any plans on trying that on another Floyd album? Like "WYWH" or "Animals"? I've never heard of demos being out there for those, but there are some really good RoIO's to mix in.

Actually, the Pompeii "recording sessions" were filmed in 1973 after almost all of the album recordings had been finished. They were just overdubbing on top of the master for the cameras to make it seem like they were still in the process of adding stuff.

Not really... if you're going to remix the album, why not use as little of the original mix as possible? Besides, perfect or not,
sharing it online is still a breach of copyright.

Winamp says it's at 32 kHz, 160 kbps. I got heavy midrange distortion throughout the entire track, and quite an earache after sitting through the whole thing.

EDIT: it's not there now, probably an incorrect soundcard setting as my EQ was turned off at the time
