ya , great movie. Did you know they didnt dub over the songs when they played in the movie. It was really Val Kilmer(Morrison) who was singing. He sounded just like him, and amazingly looked just like him too. Also most of the stuff was true, and some of it was made up. For exaple , when Jim Morrison first came up with "Moonlight Drive", nobody knows if he actually sang it to Ray on the beach. But as far as the obvious go , yes we all know Jim Morrison was big on drugs, as shown abundantly in this movie.

Ray says it happened, and I'm inclined to believe him.

Otherwise... eh. The movie made Jim Morrison even more of a legend when in reality (in my opinion, at least) he was an okay lyricist and limited singer fronting a band of extraordinary musicians.

The Doors are pretty good. Ray Manzareck (the keyboardist), slams the movie "The Doors" for being untrue, though I've heard Ray had some fun with the truth too, so who knows.

the only thing i didn't really like about the movie is that it just followed jim morrison and was just sort of a documentary of him.

Except that Oliver Stone made it, so it's not really a documentary.

i think more than anything what makes jim a legend is his poetry...it's beautiful

i really didn't like how they just followed jim morrison, it'd be fine if the movie was called jim morrison but it's called the doors

and i also hate the posters that say the doors with just him on it, they all made the band awesome
