Re: U2

I see that "ticket brokers" (scalpers) were able to pre-buy all the choice seats, to be resold at ridiculous mark-ups. Once again, the real fans are screwed.

Sad.

Fans like me.

Why do they sell tickets only by internet? That's not cool at all.

Re: U2

As I understand it, U2 intended for their fans who are members of the U2 Fan Club to be able to pre-buy the most choice seats.
Somehow, the scalpers were able to pose as fanclub members, and, using multiple email addresses, cleaned out the best seats.

A seat with face value of $50 is being resold by these bandits for like $800. A stageside $160 seat for over $1000.

I'd like to see the fans revolt and not buy the scalper's tickets.

I'd love to see that too but I won't be holding my breath.

Re: U2

Yeah, it's a very sad story indeed. From what I understand, U2 is taking action though...they're going after the pricks on ebay and what not.

kaya: Actually, you could buy the tickets from outlets and what not...I read some stories of people who just went to these outlets, where there were no lines, and got some GAs, nice and easy. Unfair to those like me who don't have an outlet within 250 miles...

Re: U2

It appears that in Dublin, there are some rather hardcore fans. Taken with the camera on my phone from my bedroom window.

Mother :: That's a nice photo. What phone did you use?

I HATE being a broke-assed college student. Even scrimping on bare minimum won't let me afford concert tickets

Oh well, can't win 'em all...
