Well, in a few recent interviews, the band has expressed their desire to work on another album...Bono was saying hopefully for sometime in 2005 (though I highly doubt it). I'm sure we can expect another album from them within 3 years, and probably a tour.

That's it in a nutshell. U2 fans will love it because it sounds like U2 stuff. U2 critics will hate it because it sounds like U2 stuff.

I got HTDAAB yesterday (as anticipated) and have given it a listen.
It's got some good tracks --- Vertigo, City of Blinding Lights, All Because of You, Original of the Species---and I didn't notice any clunkers.

So I give it a "thumbs up".

Yes I like those ones. But Yahweh is awful. What a terrible ending for an album. Ouch!!!

A friend of mine made a good hypothesis regarding all this touring stuff, and he reckons there will be another one. He puts up a good argument, if we notice, U2 go through "eras" so to speak. So the first was where they won all that really popular acclaim, the second, came in the mid 90s with strange stuff, that did shite all in the charts but won points for creativity, now they're doing pop rock, and we're two albums into it, which means, we can expect at least another one

cheers

I've read an interview with Bono where he said that they're already working on another album, to be released probably in 2006, but he also stated that they're seriously considering their future (after that) and pondering if it makes sense to continue as a band.

Knowing how hard it is for U2 to please you and Stratty - I reckon this one must be a good album then!

Now, I need to go get it

Well, I suppose it would be a bit stupid for them to building this new building for their recording studio if they weren't going to record anymore. Incidently, that building will be about 5 minutes walk from my apartment in Dublin.
