All six strings unwound?

I was reading about how the guitar Gilmour used on Comfortably Numb had all unwound strings and that got me wondering about something.

On Zeppelin songs like In My Time of Dying, Kashmir, etc. or any other song with the Danelectro, are all of his strings unwound? They all have that clinky sound when he's supposedly playing on the bottom strings.

not looking like a really compressed spring...

in other words, all the strings look like the bottom three, just fatter.

I'm not sure. I'll have a look at the Royal Albert Hall DVD again, there's a pretty extended close-up of the Danelectro during White Summer.

Re: All six strings unwound?

I just watched it... a little too blurry to be absolutely sure, but they look unwound to me. Good ear!
