Badfinger These guys were pretty much unknown in the US, but popular in England in the late '60's early '70's. Really good musicians, but totally snakebit. Absolutely horrible luck. Among many other problems, their manager ripped off all their money (told them he was "investing" it for them) and two of the founders ended up hanging themselves. Really a sad story. Anyway, I heard a couple of their tunes last weekend, and became intrigued. Cheese, Fulghy, Termie, Eddy, I bet you guys know something about 'em. Eh?

The most I can recall about Badfinger was that George Harrison discovered them. He brought them into Apple and produced their first album, and added a few guitar parts as I recall. No Matter What was a great song.. Day After Day and Come and Get It were very good.. Some good info and history here.. http://www.inter-pc.com/badfinger/

I haven't heard them in years but I seem to remember the album 'Straight Up' ( that must have been ..71 or 72?) was quite good at the time...but what it sounds like now is debatable?

VH-1 did a Behind the Music on Badfinger. It's funny because most of those Behind the Music's chronicle the ups and downs of the bands careers and ends it on a high note, like how the guys have "gotten their differences behind them and are now at a high point", but this was without a doubt the most depressing story of them all. It just detailed one disaster after another for the band and in the end left me feeling like **** about seedy people, about the music business, and about life in general. Some great tunes in an all too brief career.
