Dimebag Dead.....

According to this mornings news Dimebag Darrell was shot to death last night while on stage. A lone gunman climbed on stage during a show in Ohio and shot Dimebag three times at point blank range. He then shot three others before the police shot him. All 5 dead.

Strange times in the metal world...

R.I.P. Dimebag.

Re: Dimebag Dead.....

I seen that on the news this morning while donating blood. I live about 45 min. from Columbus and only 20 min. from Marysville (where the shooter was from). It confuses me as to what possible reason one would have to do such a thing. Crazy times indeed.

I can't ****ing believe it. He was an amazing guitarist.....holy shit.

It figures it happened in Columbus by the way. It figures even more that it happened in Ohio. Just another reason to hate the damn state.

Because we beat you in college football.
Besides, I think it was written in the Bible that Mich. and Ohio natives aren't supposed to get along.
None the less, no hard feelings. A good rivalry will keep one healthy.
So tell me, do some people in Mich. root for OSU?

Re: Dimebag Dead.....

that immensely pisses me off...i heard about it on the howard stern show this morning going to work...dimebag was one of the best metal guitarists EVER. didn't the guy cap off the drummer, too (if i'm not mistaken, isn't it pantera drummer vinnie paul?) it's a damn good thing i wasn't there...i would pulled out my curb-stomping boots and gone at him with that, then pulled out a sawed-off 8 guage and finished him off...

Re: Dimebag Dead.....

I believe he killed 4 people: Dimebag and 3 people in the audience. Then a local cop came in shot the disturbed punk. Killing him also. So, in total, there were 5.
Both the drummer and Dimebag were members of Pantera.

RIP DIME

Dimebag was the only member killed. The singer was shot in the leg. Two men in the audience were also shot dead.

Memory of Dime:

I attended the last show Pantera ever played in Canada back on Augest 1, 2001. Before the show, Dime was talking on his cell for about an hour straight while security kept the 10-20 of us fans from approaching the man. Eventually, I scrunched my CFH t-shirt in a ball, hung my sharpie-pen on the collar & tossed the shirt a good 20 yards over the chain link fence + security guards head. Dime noticed my shirt immeadiaty--it landed within a few feet of where he was standing. He picked it up & signed it on the Pantera logo. The security goon went balistic & threatened all the autograph hounds. Then Dime walked over to us & tossed my shirt back over the fence. He muttered something to us (nobody heard what he said) but then the big security asshole came around the fence & literally chased us all out of there. What a big prick that goon was.
The concert was special --not only was it the last show of the tour but also the first gig my little brother had ever been to. Dimebag was his idol & I gave him the signed CFH t-shirt to go along with his Dimebag signature series guitars.

We still won the Big Ten buddy, and there probably are OSU fans in Michigan.

Re: Dimebag Dead.....

I hadn't even heard of this band or apparently exceptional guitarist, but what the hell's going on in this world? Is everybody going stark staring mad?

Re: Dimebag Dead.....

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible...

It's a sad day for the rock world. A legend has been robbed of his life. Darrell was one of the greatest Heavy Metal guitarists of all time. What a tragic way to die.

R.I.P Dimebag...you will never be forgotten!
