As much as I love Dogs......

Sheep.

I love the "pastoral" opening with birds & sheep sounds, & Rick's ethereal Hammond work; Dave's crazy bends imitating (in my mind) the shrieks of panicy livestock, Rogers lyrics, and most of all, that galloping outro guitar solo by Dave. To me it is a perfect blend of Waters, Gilmour & Wright.

I'm always taken away to a better time and place when I hear that song. And I like playing Dave's outro solo at high volume. (When the wife's away...no bitching about it being too loud.)

Yeah man, I know I just posted it but that outro is just awesome. When I listen to it, like when it first kicks in, I picture myself at a Floyd concert and three huge blue fireworks go up in the air in front of the stage. But that's just me.

sheep has:
a good sheep/bird/nature intro
waters' voice turning into ricks mad synth
the best middle part instrumental on the album, rogers bass and ricks synths is just to good

i think the pigs solos are better though

But Sheep is more exciting. It engages you.

Pigs (three different ones) is sadly lacking in punch. It could've been great.

yea it has to be sheep. id actually say dogs is the worst track although its still great im mean its still floyd. the section where the guitars build up to a crescendo and then onto the random lords prayer parody works really well with the bass. it says that waters wrote the song in the cd booklet but is it actually him writing the entire track?

I'm glad you think Sheep is the best but how could you say Dogs is the worst song on the album?

I have to say Pigs. I would say Dogs except it drags on a tad in the middle section where Roger plays a game of cards on his solo dvd.

And on Pigs he calls Mary Whitehouse a ****ed up old hag !

Pigs on the wing is a lovely little piece though.

I voted Dogs, only becaue Daves solo just edges out his closing pieces in Pigs (TDO).... but it's real close in my mind between those two.

Not a bad cut in the box though...

I picked Dogs. They're all great, it's hard to pick one, but I think Dogs is the most ambitious track on the album. Definetly some of Roger's best lyrics.

Well, this is indded a tough one. We have here three major Pink Floyd songs, along with an acoustic tune done by Roger -- if it counts.

Anyway, I really don't see how there is any way I could choose a favorie out of the three animals -- even if I did pick one now, it would be differen tomorrow, if not tonight. Dogs, Pigs, & Sheep were all very well done.

Dogs is raw & aggressive, but wonderful at the same time. The song is more of an epic, than just a regular Floyd song; and the lyrics are probalby one of the best parts of the song ---------> Next to the amazing guitar solos, of course. That's right, you get two different guitar solos by Gilmour, plus a rehash of those two later one after the interlude. Absolutely incredible, four guitar solos all in one piece.

Pigs is still very aggressive, but it's different than the aggression seen (or heard, rather) in Dogs.

Sheep, at first, is very laid back, There are times during the song that I feel as if everything is going to be okay. It's not, of course, and the song seems to also take a trip down the dark path. Sheep itself is aggressive, but the song does occasionaly calm down to let us breathe a little.

As previously stated, I cannot make a decision as to which animal is the greatest.
