Truer words are seldom spoken.

And what were they thinking...ABITW pt 2 over Echoes, Dogs...most of the rest of their songs??? Rolling Stone is just a tool of record corporations...

Yeah, alot of the songs that weren't the 'popular singles' were way better than the ones on that list.

It should be caled "A collaboration of 500 random Singles over the past 40 years". Because a lot of those songs suck.

Don't worry about him, he's just green.

BTW, anyone who thinks the band who made Supper's Ready sucks, needs to have their hearing checked.

they sold out in their later years true, but that doesn't belie the fact that they produced some damn good music.

Floyd is the better band overall though.

Well no one beats The Floyd when it comes down to it...though early Genesis comes close.

Well we have to keep in consideration that Pink Floyd never had a "hit" song. Nothing just jumped out at people the way I can't get no satisfaction, which is number 2, did. Pink Floyd just wasn't known for their fabulous single songs. Now if albums were done in like a top 100 list I'm sure floyd would be near the top if not the top, and if they weren't I'd shoot the people who made the list. But these lists change all the time, it's just a matter of opinion anyway.....

Here's another 2 cents of mine...

Where the hell is Dire Straits. That's the most obvious omission as far as I can see. (Mind you, I am a huge DS/Knopfler Fan).

And someone mentioning nirvana, that RS thinkt that they are the Beatles of the 90!!! I'm right with you there. Nirvana is so overrated - all they did was copy from Cure.

Also (though I'm not a particular Metallica Fan) What's the deal with Enter Sandman being the best (and only) Metallica-song!!! I realize, that it's their #1-hit, but I'd say "Nothing else Matters" or "Fade to Black" are much more complete songs, also in regards to the "true" Metallica!

Actually, they did do a top 100 album list earlier this year...just as bad as this one.
