Re: coolest album cover?

Animals is pretty cool. Actually, Storm has used two chimney towers in the latest Mars Volta cover (though they're pretty obscure and b/g as opposed to the focus of the album) and people have jumped all over it going "He's just reusing stuff" sigh..

cheers

Re: coolest album cover?

Storm re-uses ideas all the time. However, they are always re-interpreted.

Re: coolest album cover?

The idea for that image was Roger's. Storm's team just made it happen.

Re: coolest album cover?

Hey I never knew that. Apparently for the creation of the Frances The Mute cover, they gave him the disc, the lyrics and I think possibly the diary that inspired the album, but don't quote me on that and then allowed him to do whatever. He came back with a few idea and they picked the one that they thought was the least Mars Volta like.
Isn't that similar to how the Dark Side cover was created?

Yeah, he showed them 3 or 4 diff. versions of the DSOTM cover, they picked the prism.

If memory serves correctly, they're in his book. I'll take a look when I get home next weekend.

Who likes the cover of Nick Mason's ~Inside out~?
I think it's great, it's also designed by Storm.

Re: coolest album cover?

Its pretty cool. I like that guy just standing there in the background with like a spacesuit or something. I guess the cover is trying to show that "there is no dark side of the moon" at all, at least that's what I got from it. Unless you count the shadow on the ground as the dark side... AHhhh.....whatever, I give up...

Re: coolest album cover?

I would like a good explaination of the cover art.
Also, did you see that the painted lady wasn't painted on her br**st on the inside cover, exciting.

I think it caught most people's attention. But I thought it was funny how you described her as "exciting."
