Rare Early Floyd songs 1. Lucy Leave - Early Barrett recording with Bob Close 2. Vegetable Man - The wacky unreleased single 3. Scream Thy Last Scream - Side B of he wacky unreleased single 4. The Commitee - Not sure if that's the title, but I think it's a Waters tune. I'd also like to hear the longer version of Embryo, i understand the version on the Work album was an edit. If there are any other rare/unreleased Floyd tunes that are any good, tell me where I can find them. I have all the official stuff. Last edited by Gianthogweed; 12-12-2004 at 06:06 PM.

The Committee is a weird little film that Pink Floyd recorded part of the soundtrack for in 1968 just after Syd left. Parts of the audio (including dialogue) have been bootlegged, the Floyds' contribution sounds kind of like Careful With That Axe Eugene mixed with Quicksilver. Apparently the whole film was supposed to come out on DVD last summer, but I've heard nothing about it since. The full version of "Embryo" was performed live at practically every PF concert from 1970 until late 1971. There are a plethora of bootleg recordings from this age, the best ones coming from John Peel's Top Gear BBC sessions which you should be able to download for free from P2P servers. Don't pay money for them, they're not an official release. "Lucy Leave" was released on a CD that accompanied an Italian book on Syd Barrett, it's long out of print but has been bootlegged many times. Just keep searching for it on the P2P networks, you should be able to find it and "I'm A King Bee" in comparable quality. Both "Vegetable Man" and "Scream Thy Last Scream" have a number of different studio mixes (all collected into one massive 18-CD bootleg called A Tree Full of Secrets which plenty of people on P2P have for download). They were both performed live on the last BBC session with Syd, late 1967, and Scream survives on at least one audience recording from the same period, introduced by Roger as "Old Woman With A Casket." There's a list of rare songs here, but it's out of date and misleading. Enough to get you started though. Hope that helps! Last edited by Botley; 12-12-2004 at 06:39 PM.

Thanks. I hate using p2p network programs though, I always get inundated with spyware. I'll see if I can find them somewhere though.

Man, Lucy Leave is such an awesome R&B song. If only that musical period lasted a bit longer, I'd like to hear what kinds of soulful grooves those guys could've cooked up.
