Re: Best tracks from The Final Cut: New remaster poll

Like chewie, I consider it one track. If I'm going to listen to it, I listen from beginning to end.

I've never heard the remaster with "Tigers" folded into the lineup, but that is a favorite song of mine. It contains what I consider the premier Waters sarcastic zinger: "...and my eyes still grow damp to remember His Majesty signed with own rubber stamp"

therefore,

One of the Few/Tigers
The Gunner's Dream
The Final Cut
Not Now John
Two Suns

It's really hard to pick one track off of this masterpiece, but I voted for Not Now John. That song is just so alive and awesome.

Re: Best tracks from The Final Cut: New remaster poll

well for me its gonna have to be The Final Cut.as said in the first post, the lyrics are very moving.then Not Now John comes in a very close second.i like Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert.just the violens in there are so awesome.Your Possible Pasts has to be my least favourite,as i consider it hard to listen to.and Two Suns in the Sunset is also extremely awesome.i used to listen to it in the morning when i woke up,it was awesome.

by the way,can someone tell me how is the flow of the remastered version of this with When the Tigers Broke Free?i mean,i tried to have it like that once on my computer, but i was using the version from Echoes.going into it transitted pretty well, but at the end...not so good.

I have always... and ever will enjoy The Fletcher Memorial Home.

I'll probably end up there one day.

Re: Best tracks from The Final Cut: New remaster poll

The flow on the 2004 remaster is terrific. But I really wish they had remixed everything in 5.1 and made it SACD like Dark Side, then I would have had no problem with spending the extra money on it.

Isn't that the exact same thing Gilmour once said?

Out of the options available I selected the title track, however Two Suns In The Sunset would get my vote.

1. Fletcher Memorial Home
2. Now Now John
3. Southampton Dock
4. The Final Cut
5. Two Suns In The Sunset

"The Gunner's Dream" could have been good, but the annoying sax solo and some other bad effects destroys it completely for me.

Re: Best tracks from The Final Cut: New remaster poll

I like all the songs in the album, not as greatly as the classics like DSofTM. Although my fav would be The final cut.

BTW: What is the whole album about? I still cant come up with an explination

Re: Best tracks from The Final Cut: New remaster poll

Does anyone know if there was a final cut tour or were pink floyd too messed up by this point to actually gig together. If there was not a tour were any of the tracks ever played live?

Re: Best tracks from The Final Cut: New remaster poll

Roger played several of the songs on his solo tours. "Pink Floyd" never played any of them live.
