In regards to the first post:

Were you expecting ANYONE to say "200,000 people who know who you are?"

It's kind of like the question, "would you rather have a million dollars, or a penny doubled every day for a year" or however you word that...

Playing a show to 200,000 people may get you a little more attention at first, but if it's just a mediocre show, they probably won't go tell everyone about you.

On the other hand, 20 people's musical perspective changed, they would tell everybody.. It's one of those things you just have to think about..I guess..

Affecting somebody with music is a powerful thing...and contagious...20 people can become 200,000...so, i go with the first option...

Saludos.

I'd say 20 as well because the news will spread eventually.

forget 20, i'll take 5, if five people walked away from a show with a changed perspective, a mind a little more open, that would be worth it.
playing in front of 200,000 people would be great, but if you went out there and were completely unextraordinary, you wouldn't feel to good about it.

Re: Deep Question For Musicians

well first of all nobody said it would change the way they saw music for the better if ur best still isnt that good people could think... "omg thats supposed to be good? that sucked! music sucks! i'm gonna go listen to rap" and something else u all forgot to consider is the pay! are you going to get more for a crowd of 20 paying customers, or 200,000 paying customers!? do the math. but then again i think it'd be alot easier to play for 20 but thats just because i get stage fright. i dunno somethings to consider

Re: Deep Question For Musicians

I'd take the 20 people. Heck, even when I'm playing a song to a friend and they look at me with big round eyes and say "woah, man, you're fuckin good!", it makes my day so I guess if 20 people looked at me that way, that would just be the greatest thing ever.
