Deep Question For Musicians

Would you rather play the best show of your life, a show that changes the way people look at music forever, to a crowd of 20, or a decent show in front of 200,000 people.

20 people deeply effected, or
200,000 know who you are

Id would rather do a show that changed the way people look at music forever for tons of reasons. If you made music that changed the way people looked at music, chances are they will remember you and your band forever, making you all the more famous, and to me thats more inportant than making tons of cash(although awsome), and playing infront of thousands of people(cool also).

I'd rather change music history in front of 20 people, so that I'm noticed and soon later I play in front of 200,000 enlightened people. Though considering how open-minded most people nowadays are to creative music, or at least how profitable it is, I'd still like to impact 20 people whether 200,000 people await my rock odyessy or not. Heck, i'll even do it for free!

I'd take a small club show of a few people over a packed stadium anyday.

I'd take a packed club: hot and sweaty and angsty. Then the crowd really gets into it.

From my non-musician point of view it's like - would you rather see your favourite band as tiny figures on a distant stage at a massive stadium/arena or up close and personal at a smaller venue? I know which I prefer, life changing or not.

i would take a the 20 people any day because you can just start out that way then later if your still around then you can go to bigger crowds. and if your not around to do that then you still gave 20 people a whole new look at music and they can really make a good judgement on other music.

i get the feeling that a lot of people have said the 20 people option because as a musician its the "right" thing to say. But when it came down to it, how many of you would honestly turn down a gig to 200 000 people, in order to satisfy 20 people? Honestly...
