What Pink Floyd albums I should buy?

Hi I am new here! I am going to buy some Pink Floyd albums. What Pink Floyd albums I should buy? I don't mean music itself, because I know Pink Floyd, but maybe not well... Yeah, I mean CDs, SACDs and so on.

I know, that Dark Side Of The Moon has been released on hybrid SACD and sound is very good. I am going to buy that SACD tomorrow. What's going on with other albums? The remasters are from 1994/1995? Are those CDs good? During the last saturday I was in local record shop here in Finland and all old Pink Floyd album were like 11€. Normally those albums have been like fullprice. Has there been any rumors, that new editions/versions are coming? I don't know, why suddenly old albums were like midprice. I would not like to buy duplicate copies so that's why I am asking this question.

Perhaps because most of the albums are over 20-30 years old, a few even older. And retailers are grasping for as much business lately in the run-up to the holidays - at least here in England - that they gotta entice you shoppers somehow.

Get 'em all in whatever format you like.

I didn't mean, which are the best albums and so on. I meant, how good are the CD versions and so on...?

That's great man get them all if they only cost 11€. All Floyd albums cost 20 euro here which is full price. The Wall even costs 30 while all the albums i usually buy are around 10€.

The "1992/3/4" remasters are your best bet.

Yes, Botley's right. Also, the SACD version of DSotM is wonderful. Animals is also supposed to be making an appearence on SACD soon...you should try to hold out until then to get that one.

WYWH should be joining Animals on SACD as well...

I'd advise you to buy the Dark Side SACD first, then get the remastered Meddle, Atom Heart Mother, Obscured By Clouds and Saucerful of Secrets discs. They're all pristine as far as sound quality goes. That should tide you over until the next wave of SACDs is released.

Every gets DSOTM first, but personally, go with WYWH for the overall greatness of it, both lyrically and musically. TFC is very good, but not a first timer, more like a 4th or 5th.

Exactly. Anyway those are the only editions you can find normally across Europe, so no problem here.

I recall that EMI promoted some sort of "autumn campaign" in September/October in European countries (well, in UK and Italy for sure) and the Pink Floyd back catalogue was sold at special price (around 14-15 € here) so probably some retailers are still selling the CDs at budget price. At least that's what's happening here.

It's all good.
