Re: What is Less Floyd-like, TFC or TDB?

PS I just got Final Cut and Division Bell this past Friday. Division Bell is more like Floyd than anything from Dark Side on. Final Cut was just Roger whining about God knows what again. It's Gilmour and Wright's voices versus Roger's that makes the difference.

Less Floyd like?? They both sound like, well, part of Pink Floyd - although certain elements are missing from both pieces

I guess you could say The Final Cut is too much of Roger -- and that The Division Bell just isn't enough of Roger - funny, huh

No Roger means no Floyd, in my opinion.

I find those kinds of statements to be rediculous, almost to the point of laughing.

both are floydian in there own respect. I mean, they were made by the floyd and they have there own distinct sound. i wouldnt say either are less floydian. I love both and it will never change

Re: What is Less Floyd-like, TFC or TDB?

The answer depends on who you think but the pink in floyd. The Gilmourians will say TFC is less floydlike, and versa visa for the Waters fans. I personally think the real floyd died with Animals, though most of what they did after that still kicked ass (I hate the Division Bell), it really wasn't them any more. It was just Rog, Dave, and their egos.

My dad would agree with you. Then again, he thinks Jimi Page plays too many solos.

Re: What is Less Floyd-like, TFC or TDB?

I don't think either album is less Floyd like. Regardless of who was in the band, both albums were released under the name Pink Floyd and thus made it their sound at that point in time. I enjoy both albums, but The Final Cut is brilliant from start to finish.

Re: What is Less Floyd-like, TFC or TDB?

if ya wanna get real pc, TDB is less floyd like because it was missing Roger waters intirely. However I like TDB alot more than TFC because gilmour is just a genious. But I do agree that TFC is a masterpiece

I hear cries of blasphemy from all sides, but personally TDB is my favourite floyd album, while TFC is the worst.
