A Clockwork Orange.... I thought that maybe if it had more tasteless and pointless nudity for purient interest, maybe it could have contradicted its point a little more.....

well the violence and nudity is an important part to the movie. but it is a bit more complicated than that. how about you tell me or someone else who understands it what it is you don't get and then someone could explain it.

im pretty sure i got what the movie was about i just didnt see what was so great about it. a guy who is definitly messed up and goes around beating people up and raping people. he gets caught, goes through this really messed up treatment that makes him sick whenever he thinks about the violent acts he used to commit. he then goes home to find someone moved into his room and he stumbles to the house of someone he beat up and raped his wife. he takes him in and helps him until he realizes who he is. he then makes him sick by playing bethoven (cant remember which symphony) cuz it was accompanied by a video of hitler. he tries to kill himself but it only puts him in a hospital. they then decide to reverse his treatment. i cant remember where it goes from there, i just dont see what the big deal is.

i guess i was just expecting something better. maybe if my friends never made a big deal about it being so great, i wouldnt have had such high expectations and i would have liked it more, i dont know. if what i described is all there is to the story, i didnt think it was that great, its just my opinion and im entitled to it, sorry i didnt see the genious.

i don't think anyone said you weren't entitled to your own opinion. i was just trying to show you the way to liking a great movie in my opinion.

I think any movie full of ultra-violence is great. Alright, only this one. The part where he kicks the crap out of the old guy and rapes his wife while singing 'Singing In The Rain' is classic.

What did you floydians think about the removal of the final chapter when they made the movie? I was quite glad, as I found the final chapter of the book too phony.
