Re: Favorite/Least Favorite Films?

I just watched Kill Bill vol.1 for the second time -- and it f'n amazing. The whole movie is incredibly well done. The Japanese anime scene, the black & white fight scene towards the end, and the whole story in general. I also really, really liked the song you hear throughout the film, the one that plays during the end credits; I guess you could call it the main theme. Anyway, it's absolutely beautiful.

I also liked the fact that the violence in the film was done completely over the top. Someone would get a limb cut off and blood would splatter everywhere, not unlike From Dusk Till Dawn. Now even though Quentin didn't direct Dusk, it still has that Tarantino feel to it.

Anyways, now I'm gonna go watch Vol.2, which is really an altogether different film. Sure, it's tied together by certain events & characters, but it has a very different atmosphere to it.

They all work for me. Maybe you should get your computer fixed. Or maybe you should move to the U.S.

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite Films?

I have recently rediscovered Clifford starring Martin Short and Charles Grodin. It did poorly in the theaters because it was promoted as a Problem Child-esque film, but in reality it is much darker than that--and utterly fantastic and funny.

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite Films?

Clifford is very twisted but very funny. First of all, Martin Short already looks like a 12-year old boy, and he can act like one too. Him and his little dinosaur, what's the name, Stephen?? That movie is great.

Lately, one of my favorite movies to watch has been Smoke. I don't know if anyone has seen it, but you really should. It's a wonderful little picture about various characters and how their lives intersect. Harvey Keitel, William Hurt, & Forest Whittaker all star in the movie, among others. I highly reccomend seeing it.

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite Films?

The Aristocrats is now high on my list. I finally bough the dvd with the extra scenes, and I think I laughed more than I did in the theatre.

Re: Favorite/Least Favorite Films?

I was watching Dusk 'Til Dawn again last night, (speaking of Harvey Keitel). The movie is pretty much 2nd rate Tarantino fare, although it has it's moments. The MAIN one being when they're in the vampire bar and Salma Hyack does the dance with the snake, etc. She is unbelievable beautiful.
Until she turns into a vampire, of course.

IMO the movie would have been much better if they cut the fight with the vampires down to just a couple of minutes. It went on and on to tedium.
