Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

Thorin, understand this:

Some floydians don't like the Beatle because they are sick of hearing love lyrics (i.e. hold my hand)

I wish i could girls crawling over me for saying, " hold my hand" for 2:30 minutes.

People on here like to here music that they can relate to! (like why life is so screwed up= DSotM)

I can see where you are coming from though.......Meddle = Beatles.....and supposedly Sgt. Pepper is a concept album (supposedly)

Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

I do like some of the LATER Beatles work, and John Lennon. I still need to hear some of the other solo works (WHY did I miss out on Mr. Harrison?!), because the later stuff is pretty nice.

The earlier stuff is kind of bubble-gummy to me (the love lyrics). Some occasionally reminds me of Piper, which is pretty neat. But for the most part, it's the later stuff I'm attracted to.

Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

When I think of the Beatles, I think of the word "overrated," but George was my favorite in any case, so time to pull out All Things Must Pass.

Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

Ok- Let's forget it.

This IS meant to be a eulogy to George Harrison, after all, and not a forum for bickering about whether you liked the band or not.

Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

Thorin, I'm not the boss of anybody, especially not this forum, but please take it to another topic. This thread I started (though somebody would have) is to honor the memory of the late great George Harrison, not to get mad when people don't go by the majority or what you like. The point: if you want to whine about people having a different opinion (i.e. not being such huge fans of the Beatles, though they influenced many and for that I thank them) start another topic like "Beatles Rule" whatever.

Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

Sorry thorin,

I should of said something like, " I'm thankful for the Beatles because I like Meddle."....

But I'm not going to lie so how about I just take back everything I said.

*taking everything back*

Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

It seems to me that a certain person can't handle other people having opinions, and I don't mean thorin13 either.

"Yeah, but what are ya gonna do?" - H. Simpson

Incidentally, George appeared on The Simpsons when The B-Sharps were giving their final live performance on the rooftop of Moe's bar.

George: "Ah,it's been done."

Sound familiar?

Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

Euegenesaxe, excuse my paranoia, but are you referring to me? This thread is meant to commemorate George Harrison's memory, not to argue about whether he was great musically or not. Start a different thread for it. I can handle others having opinions, having the freedom to have a different opinion is a great honor, but when someone tries to force their opinions on everyone else (thorin), and seems shocked that people don't just follow the majority, that's what gets me. If I forced my opinions on everyone, you'd all listen to CCR, the Talking Heads, PF, and the Ramones. That's not fair is it? Please send me a private message if you want to continue this, don't get in the way of people trying to honor the late great Mister Harrison.

Re: GEORGE HARRISON HAS PASSED AWAY

Yes, Thorin, Ringo was on the episode where Marge finds her old paintings of Starr and sort of rediscovers her passion for art. Paul was also on there, where Lisa turned vegetarian.
