underwear

I've recently developed a nasty rash in the nether regions. My doctor said it's down to chaffing and sweating caused by my underwear. He said that I should start wearing something softer and looser, possibly silk, next to my skin. I personally think its a bit suspect for as bloke to wear silk or chiffon underwear, but perhaps I'm just being old fashioned? I feel that its one step away from 'J.Edgar Hoover'. I just wondered if any of the chaps out there wear silk undies, and whether it has stopped any unnecessary soreness/ reddening? Perhaps your a 'boxer' man or have a fondness for Jockey shorts? Do you go 'commando'?
