| Re: Best Concerts on DVD I bought the White Stripes DVD (Under Blackpool Lights) about a week ago, I'm frankly amazed that no-one mentioned it here. I think it's an awesome performance, shot brilliantly (mainly on Super 8mm film cameras) and a great concert DVD as a whole. I recommend it. Quote:
It's shot kinda badly, but the show is classic early '70s Bowie. Ridiculous costume changes, long Ronson guitar solos, mime sequences. |

| Re: Best Concerts on DVD Sounds good, i'm downloading the version broadcast on TV in the 70s, along with the footage of the Spiders jamming with Jeff Beck. I mean to get the DVD, but that doesn't have the Jeff Beck part. I saw a little snippet of it on the Best of Bowie DVD, and although the attire Bowie had adorned was rather disconcerting, it looked pretty good. Wonder why none of today's rockers still dress like that....wearing that red mullet takes guts! Last edited by doctor_how : 01-01-2005 at 02:58 PM. |

| Re: Best Concerts on DVD Nope. The Nirvana box-set was a massive release, you can find it anywhere.

| Re: Best Concerts on DVD I love concert DVDs! I have a few official releases, then even more unofficial bootleg DVDs. But here are the official ones (that I remember) : REM-"Perfect Square" The Who-"The Kids Are Alright" (stunning) Pink Floyd-"Live in Pompeii" Dream Theater-"Live in Tokyo/5 Years in a LiveTime" (double DVD set...got it for $10 and I love it!) Peter Gabriel-"Growing Up Live" (one of my favs) Dave Matthews Band-"Live in Central Park" I know I have more, but can't recall them at the moment... I'm actually about to go to Walmart, in search of a good concert DVD (I have my heart set on Rush in Rio). I got a $20 gift card at Christmas.

| Re: Best Concerts on DVD The Beatles Anthology DVD has some awesome live stuff on it. My favorites are "I'm Down" at Shea Stadium and Jimi Hendrix playing "Sgt. Pepper's" live. |

| Re: Best Concerts on DVD Well no luck with the Rush in Rio. As a matter of fact, Walmart had absolutely nothing that interested me. No Queensryche cds, no Radiohead DVDs. BUT they did have 8 copies of Regis Philbin's new Cd...
