Will the New Lawsuits Make Rog&Dave Work Together?

(*I've checked a Floyd news website and didn't see anything about the lawsuits being dismissed yet, so....)

I understand that the recent lawsuits brought against Pink Floyd by Clare Torry and the former Islington Green School students are more directed at the music-businessmen involved (I assume), but I also understand that the 4 Floyds who were active members at the time may also have to testify and participate if the cases ever make it to court (well, Rick may not have to do anything with the Islington Green people because he was reduced to a session player).

So I was thinking if Roger, Dave, Rick, & Nick have to work together to help dismiss or settle the lawsuits (*if* they make it to court and *if* they all share the same feelings about them), will it help maybe cool some of the bitterness? I'm *not* asking "Hey if they have to work together to get rid of these lawsuits, will they feel closer and go on a tour and cut a new album?!" No no, I'm thinking realistic here...
and some of you may even think it's not realistic that the relationships get even slightly better if they work together against these lawsuits. But I think it could...at least very slightly. At least maybe Roger and Dave would be talking again, and not in the ridiculously childish way they communicated for the track selection of "Echoes" (emailing James Guthrie & Co. and saying "Tell Roger I said..." or "Tell Dave I said...").

You ask, "Okay what do you care if their relationship gets *slightly* better or not? They're not making music together!" Maybe true. But it's just such a freaking shame how so many bands in the music world get torn apart over control, etc. Pink Floyd has been through things that give them a unique bond (I'm mostly referring to Syd Barrett and the days when they survived punk's anti-arena rock band movement). When Steve O'Rourke passed away, it was a sad thing. Then I read on a Floyd web site that Rog,Dave,Rick,&Nick actually played together at his funeral ("Fat Old Sun" and, ironically "Great Gig"). And I didn't even think THAT was possible.

So, it's kind of an odd situation; I hope these dumb lawsuits don't even make it too far...but then again if they do it *might* be the first time these 4 guys have worked together to achieve the same goal in ages.

No, but it has a great chance... of being squashed in milliseconds.

Why on earth would any of them have to even bother defending themselves in court? That's what lawyers are for. And the "Brick 2" complaint isn't even a lawsuit, the money will supposedly be awarded automatically because of new UK copyright legislation.

I've never encountered anyone whose relationships have actually IMPROVED after a court case, regardless of who was involved.

That turned out to be the usual load of bollocks (Roger didn't even attend the funeral!) and has been discussed on this site already.

Yeah, they performed, not including RW. Waters didn't show up at the funeral, if memory serves.

Well it appears that once again I've been had and have made myself to look like a jackass. In my defense, here's where I innocently got the funeral "news": http://www.pinkfloyd-co.com/pfco_news.html . Scroll down to 11/14/03. (Although, I'm also pretty good at making myself look like a jackass without the help of a misinformed web site.)
Seems to me someone should email the site and let them know, they're mistaken.
But anyway, I still think that if the lawsuits were more serious and had more basis that the Floyds would have to put in some effort to get them squashed, which would be the first time they'd worked together like that in a long time.

That site is renowned for posting complete shite in their "news" section. Remember the "confirmed" album and tour from a couple of years ago?

Not Pinkfloyd & Co. That is a great website with a wonderful Sysop and determined moderators on their forum who are fair and they would never hate another website because it is more accurate, fair, or popular.
