| Ayreon (Arjen Lucassen) Ayreon is much like The Alan Parsons Project. Arjen Lucassen, in this case, is the Alan Parsons. He writes these fantastic rock operas, and often recruits people from other bands to form the right formula for his latest work. I only discovered them a while ago, when I picked up his/their '04 release "The Human Equation." Loving that, I asked for and got another CD, "The Universal Migrator." Very proggy with occassional metal/hard rock tendancies, but not extremely unaccessable. Most of his earlier works are based on somewhat cheesy sci-fi storylines, but the music is wonderful. If you like good music, give this group a try. Arjen Lucassen Homepage He also has a few other projects: Ambeon (ambient techno), Space One (heavy metal), and Bodine (I have no idea). |
