Re: Videogames!

I played Halo 2 for the first time yesterday. . .it was as bad as I thought it would be. Sorry all you Halo lovers but it's just not that great of a game, I really don't see why you all are so hyped about it.

Re: Videogames!

Yeah, it's an incredibly overrated franchise. I mean, it's a good game, but it gets old after a while.

Personally, I prefer stealth-based games, like Splinter Cell, but especially Metal Gear Solid.

Re: Videogames!

Getaway, anyone? Max Payne? Quality games right there. Halo is boring and repetive.

Re: Videogames!

Games are what you make them out to be.
Getaway: Shoot enemies, steal car.
Max Payne: Jump from around corners in bullet-time, shoot enemies.
ALL games can be classified as repetitive. Since they all usually involve one element of fun that is repeated throughout the entire game.

Re: Videogames!

Interesting perspective, yes. But I didn't bore of those games in two minutes like I did Halo. Nor did I bore of Super Mario Brothers, Punchout, Final Fantasy VII, all of the GTA's, so on, so on. . .

Haven't played Getaway, but I dig Max Payne quite a bit. Picked up the first one a few months ago for $10...great deal if you ask me! I really want the second one. Do you have that one? If so, how is it?

I get your point but some games are boring, others not and keep you interested; and this is a fact.

Re: Videogames!

Right, but that boils down to individual opinion. Some people may love a particular game, others may hate it and find it boring. It's what YOU get out of the game.

For instance: Starcraft. I am the only person I know who enjoys it. I've tried getting many of my friends to play Starcraft, but they never last longer than 10 minutes. While I find Starcraft to be intense, complex, and very fun, they find it to be nothing more than "mine minerals for 15 minutes, build men, attack for 1 minute, end."

Great, now I'm really jonesing for some Starcraft right now! Argh!
