2005 Mod election: Nomination time

Dear floydians,

Due to the recent happenings at APFFN, we have decided we should add more moderators to the team, in order to keep this a friendly and civilized board.

We all have seen boards and communities on the Internet that over a brief period of time convert into very unpleasant places to be. We don't want APFFN to be one of those.

As such, a good team of moderators is necessary to keep things running smoothly and to guide new users. Moderator abilities include editing, deleting, moving threads and banning users. Moderators have full responsibility over the boards and whatever is decided by mods will be enforced by myself and APFFN.

Our rules are as follows:

1) Only APFFN users that have registered BEFORE or ON December 19th, 2004 (that is, users that have been a part of our community for at least 3 months) and that have at least 50 posts may participate in the nominating/voting process.

2) Each registered user may nominate only one person, which may be him/herself;

3) Please use this thread only for nominations, not for discussions or babbling. If you wish to discuss/babble or ask any questions about the nominating/voting process, please use this thread instead.

4) Only users that have registered BEFORE or ON September 19th, 2004 (that is, users that have been part of our community for at least 6 months) and that have at least 250 posts are eligible for being mods.

5) The nomination process will be open until Sunday, March 27th, 11:59:59 PM. Any nominations made after that deadline will be disregarded. The polling/election will happen anytime after that deadline, as soon as I get around to it. We'll keep you posted about this.

Happy nominating!

Update: I have just deleted several posts. Please use this thread only for nominating, not for discussing nominations.

Re: 2005 Mod election: Nomination time

Are these nominations in addition to the existing mods or to replace them?

I also think DT would make a good mod.

Re: 2005 Mod election: Nomination time

Someone with a sense of humour would be a boon, so I'll go with Cheese or Eddy in that respect.

Lejla and I had been discussing the unlimited possibilities of having the vastly amusing 'Old Aiberdeen' on the team and it'd be nice (of us) to give one of the ethnic minorities on the site something to do also, so Cheesy has to be the natural candidate.

Yeah, sticking with Cheesy and Eddy, plus +1 other, I'm reckoning.

Actually, I'll throw Simon into the mix. He's always pleasant and has the apparent patience of a saint.

They are in addition to the existing mods.

No need to apologize, people, but let's keep this for nominating only, alright?

I may not have the same degree of clout as some of the other's mentioned, but I would be honored and humbled to be selected as a moderator of these forums.

Re: 2005 Mod election: Nomination time

I nominate myself.
I HAVE been a member since June of 2003, I've made lot's of friends and calmed down since my old days. I think I should be eligible

If somebody is already nominated, i don't think it's necessary for you to nominate them again.
