Thumbs up Re: Camel

AAAh, camel, probobly one of my favorite bands. Or, i dont like there 80 work, because the sound isnt the same at all. Although, their four first albums are all must-have in my opinion. Lets start with the first album, camel. They were a new band, and they tried different vocals, still its high quality on almost every song. Highlights: Seperation, Never Let Go and Mystic Queen.
The next album was Mirage, and this album is completely brilliant, and maybe their best. Fantastic good sound and progressive music on its best. Highlights: Lady Fantasy, Earthrise and Nimrodel/The Procession/White Rider(see nick probably the best song camel ever made with lady fantasy).
Then there is Snow Goose. Also very good standard, and this album is completely instrumental, without vocals. The sound is teriffic, and no highlights, just plain good all the way. At last it is Moonmadness. And you can hear how the band has grown since the first, the vocals are back, but still very instrumental. Super album, and the last I bought, still growing on me. Highlights: Song Within a Song and maybe Spirit of the Water, yes, and Another night and Chord Change are also very good.

One of the best progressive bands I have ever heard, probably the best. On the top with Genesis and King Crimson

Re: Camel

I now have Mirage, The Snow Goose and Moonmadness. All of them excellent. Dated? This music is as timeless as it gets.

Re: Camel

I just got into Camel about a year ago. I love them to death, I have their first 5 albums. Mirage is my favorite and it contains one of my all time favorite songs, "Nimrodel - The Procession - White Rider" (Is their a shorter way to say that? I usually just way "nimrodel").

Re: Camel

I've just started listening to Camel within the last 6 months or so based on hearing some on Top Gear of all places and Amazons £3.33 albums offer, which was also how i got into Budgie, Dio, and UFO

I now have Snow Goose, Moonmadness, Rain Dances and Breathless and will be getting more when I can spare the cash. Latimer's guitar work is great and I love the solo on Rhayader Goes to Town.

Re: Camel

Have listened to both Camel and Mirage a few times now. Camel I liked instantly but Mirage took a few listens to get into it but neither dissapointed in the end. Well Recommended Deranged
