The Pompeii DVD is a DVD released by the band when they did a set at Pompeii. They performed great songs like a longer version of Echoes consisting of 2 parts, Careful With that Axe, and A Saucerful of Secrets to name a few. It also had a lot of band footage and many other features. I thought it was a pretty cool video.

I have the dvd and it is awesome. Nick Mason is really impressive in his preformances as well as everyone else. I liked the interviews too but wish they had a bit more

I've had the Director's Cut for a few months now. Until last night, I had only watched the Director's Cut version once. I enjoy the studio scenes and the interviews, but the added extraneous space crap and the CGI Pompeii are very poor additions, IMO. I watched it again last night, and noticed something that gave me a good laugh. Look closely on Echoes Pt. 2, during the CGI image of Pompeii before it's destruction. Vesuvius looms in the background, but unfortunately, it appears as it does now, i.e. after it spewed 1/3 of it's top onto the surrounding countryside. In 79 AD, it was a pretty cone shape, not the mess that it is now. Someone couldn't be bothered to get the cheezy CGI additions accurate.

Also, on the Director's Cut - Echoes Pt. 2, after the seagulls and the organ buildup to the last verse, I'm fairly certain they edited in that particular snippet of Part 1, footage, music and all. Right up until it mellows out and the camera begins to zoom out.

Red face

Echoes on the DVD is much better than on the CD. Dave goes CRAZY on the guitar along with Roger's cool bass riff. I listen to that part over and over again. If only I could do that.....
