Re: The Great Genesis

Trick of the Tail is an awesome album after Gabriel.
There are about a million threads on this topic though, you should check them out--there are a lot of Genesis/Peter Gabriel fans here.

Re: The Great Genesis

I would certainly be one of those. I love Gabriel-era Genesis, and his solo work. The man is a genius!!

But Dave's right...there are other threads about this. But it's fine with me...Genesis deserves constant praise and recognition.

Re: The Great Genesis

I love Gabriel and Genesis, Selling England By The Pound and Lamb are among the best albums ever made. Let's all pray to the holy Genesis.l

Re: The Great Genesis

My favourite band.

From spectacular, mad prog about being a cross-dressing lawnmower to fantastic progressive pop.

Re: The Great Genesis

"Genesis To Revelation" is decent...but doesn't really sound like Genesis. But "Trespass" is very good...better than "Nursery Cryme", I'd say.

Re: The Great Genesis

I have to agree on that, Philera Genesis have made better stuff than that. My personal favourite is the album ''Genesis''.

Re: The Great Genesis

In terms of Popmusic they made some very good stuff, in terms of progrock it's all shit even Trick Of The Tail which seems highly liked by a lot of people. I only like 1 or 2 songs from it.

Re: The Great Genesis

That's like saying that Blink-182 makes crappy metal, but when it comes to pop-punk is good. But then you realize punk is shit so it doesn't matter.

Re: The Great Genesis

Hmm might be the way i said it well let's just say that in terms of music in general Collins era Genesis have made some really good stuff. They were/are all fantastic musicians. Firth of Fifth is a masterpiece and that wasn't all Gabriel or Hackett!
