Why are we talking about breakfast cereals?

Anyway, I like the Floyd cos their music is so visual and takes you to another dimension but it's a lot safer than drugs.

BTW if you want to start talking about cereals, you'd better start a new topic.

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

Their music is truly timeless, someone said the band never revolve around one person, so the name PINK FLOYD is the thing everyboady recognises. That's the special quality.

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

floyd music is something you can't compare anything else too. i mean u can compare certain modern punk bands to other punks bands but the floyd sound stays with u. If your at school and are bored you can remember every single riff or solo from another brick 2. if your at work and got nothin to do you can remember money in your head. floyd plays a type of music that will stay with us forever and will never ever leave. i like floyd because i can come home one day and pissed off like crazy, but after i listen to floyd i forget about all of my problems..

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

Hmmm...aside from the Gilmour guitar greatness, I always thought the music of PF was lyrically anything but "relaxing" if anything adding a new batch of potential problems to consider.

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

I don't like Pink Floyd. But I love Van Halen.

Yeah right...

Anyway, I suppose I really liked the fact that the lyrics really had something to say and made me think. I mean, I know a lot of modern music has great things to say, (Baby, I love you..We're going to be together forever..etc. ) but I just really got into PF.

And of course, Gilmour's godlike playing didn't hurt.

Wow, on topic 5 pages later.

I like Pink Floyd because they make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

Like fairjess, I thought PF lyrics were a welcome change from stereotypical hackneyed "love song" lyrics, which have been beaten to death in music for decades.

Also, PF experimentation was a refreshing change from the 'standard' rock format of I - IV - V chord progressions, and 3-minute pop songs.
