Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

I like Pink Floyd because of their ability to compose great sounding rock music and jam unlike any other bitches ive ever heard while at the same time breaking away from the common predictable somewhat simple minded philosophies of rock music and turning it into something much greater.. filled with diverse and thought provoking ideas and philosophies, both in the lyrical content and general sound. Floyd is one of the few bands who can fit into "my" genre, which i can only refer to as "smartrock" both thought provoking and sweet sounding at the same time.. amazing.

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

The floyd have the ability to "hypnotize" me with thier music... I can listen to them for hours, and also cant find a pattern used in more than one song - thats pretty difficult to do. They' re music is well worked, yet it is based on simple riffs(not in all their songs though) that add up to a beautiful mixture that sounds complex and rich. Pink Floyd produce the music that i most of automatically just like. (sometimes i cant explain why i feel a shiver down my spine when i hear a gilmour solo?!?!)

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

In a simple word.... GENIUS. Pure and simple! The music is the vehicle for any "mood" I want to achieve. It can mellow me or get me pumped. Not many bands have that ability. They are way beyond anything past, present or future...

Pure genius!

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

Considering that I had been listening to just The Beatles and The Who before listening to Floyd, it was the most musically complex thing I'd heard yet, and that appealed to me. Very rich aural textures, and compelling lyrics. (though I still like the Beatles and The Who!)

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

i always felt that the combination of great music and ideas, with that little touch of organized chaos, and insanity just fit togerther so well that it formed into the undying force known as the pink floyd. thats why i love it anyway.

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

Wow, this is an old thread- What appeals to me the most is the complex nature of the lyrics and music. The lyrics to me have a deep and thoughtful meaning, and are on a different level of thinking - sort of a hidden and thought provoking meaning. The lyrics are combined with great music -Perfectly-. Folks, it doesn't get any better than this.

Re: Why do you like "Pink Floyd"?

I've liked Pink Floyd since I watched Behind The Music, and I just think they are a very awesome band. Their Music is sooo deep and has hidden meanings to everything, I just find them completely intriguing and very enigmatic.
