Re: What Album

It's performed live on "Ummagumma" and it's on "Relics" I think.

Re: What Album

Yup, it was the B-side of "Point Me At The Sky"(great song) originally. So, its on the "Early Singles" disc in the Shine On box set as well.

Re: What Album

Yeah most people have never heard it. It was an early single from late '68(between Saucerful of Secrets and More) The only place you can get it is the original 7" single or the singles disc in the box set. It's great, anyway, if you like stuff from that period. You should be able to get an mp3 of it somewhere I'm sure, that's not my area of expertise.

Re: What Album

I picked up an original Italian 7" of it last week on eBay.

My stylus still costs too much though, so I'll need to wait.

Beans on toast,

Mark

Re: What Album

Yeah I've seen those Italian ones before. Very nice. Never understood why the UK version didn't come in a pic sleeve.

Re: What Album

Yeah, I've got that one too. Very nice Rick Wright tune. Not quite as good as "Point Me At The Sky" (though its nothing alike of course), but better than the previous "Apples and Oranges", a rather weak offering from Syd. Early Floyd is my fave anyways, so all that stuff is essential IMO, it's just so darn hard to get without buying the box set.

Re: What Album

I know a lot of people don't like it, but that is one catchy tune. '...hot tea, can't stop yawning, pass the butter please.'. Julia Dream is alright, I prefer the Top Gear version. 'Point Me At The Sky' was their post Syd single masterpiece. Although it was their last single for how many years.

Re: What Album

It's too bad that Biding My Time never made it out as a single. That was a great tune. Dave's jamming away on his guitar and then right out of the blue there's Rick on a trombone!

Re: What Album

I will always say that the live version of 'Biding My Time' is a whole lot better than the version on Relics.
