Re: Corporal Clegg

If that's a joke on the well-known 'song', than that's funny.

If it's not, than I am confused.

Damn fine kazoo solo in corporal clegg! Good chorus, too.
And good verses.

I don't hear Syd in there at all. I know it's a rumor.

Re: Corporal Clegg

If I did take it seriously or get offended I'd be a mighty troubled soul. I HAVE been known to make an annoying post or two. Did you know what the message said before you gave a one star vote? I thought it was at least a one and a half star thread.

Re: Corporal Clegg

everyone's allowed to make an annoying post or two (though some go over their weekly limit)

yes i did know what the message said but i couldn't give it a one and a half and i'm allergic to two's so i went for the one.

Re: Corporal Clegg

I just bought A Saucerful of Secrets on tape today and I listened to the first side of it, the last song being "Corporal Clegg", and the song was weird and hilarious! I haven't listened to much early Floyd stuff so I can't say that it is my fav Barrett track, but it is quite entertaining. Did the band ever perform "Corporal Clegg" live?

Re: Corporal Clegg

1. It's not a Barrett track.

2. They played it live once on a live TV broadcast. Actually, they lip synched it.

Re: Corporal Clegg

Cool. I hope this isn't sacriligious, but it kind of sounds Beatley, in their later years anyway, espcially the weird lyrics. Do they have some kind of underlying meaning?

Re: Corporal Clegg

i see what you mean, as i could easily find it on The Beatles 'Sgt. Pepper...' or Rolling Stones 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' albums.

i have no clue about the lyrics or any hidden meanings. mrs. clegg must be proud of him, thats all i can tell ya.

Re: Corporal Clegg

Are you all on this thread sure you like the sound of kazoo????
imagine a kazoo version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond
that must make you sick!!!!!!
I think the only thing that spoils Corporal Clegg IS the kazoo solo.

Re: Corporal Clegg

You're joking right? That is the BEST part of the song.....it makes me wish i had a kazoo.
