Re: Corporal Clegg

I just downloaded off Kazaa a video of 'Flaming' played live, with Gilmour on guitar and vocal. Very interesting to watch.

Re: Corporal Clegg

I don't see why some people hate Corporal Clegg. It's probably one of the best early Waters songs.

Corpral Clegg is one of the best. Kazoos are awesome!
I wonder at what part of the zoo does one find medals. And what kind of medal is it?

Re: Corporal Clegg

I like that song, Dave's guitar is very heavy. I think Syd did not want to play on that song, because he didn't like the lyrics.

Re: Corporal Clegg

I think Syd didn't play on it because his band mates prefered it that way.

Re: Corporal Clegg

I can't believe that an entire thread was dedicated to Corporal Clegg. I thought I was the only person who liked that song. I love the "Dear Oh Dear Oh are they really sad for me." Great song.

It's a little musical instrument... basically you sing through it. Take a look here: http://www.dulcimerguy.com/strange.htm

Re: Corporal Clegg

If you want a cheap kazoo, you can put tissue over a comb and hum through it, but I never was able to get that to work.

Concerning the ending, I think it is the same chord progression as the crazy band instruments "jam" in the middle of Jugband Blues. Just a weird tidbit of trivia.
