Is a Blue Voodoo the way to go???

I have been looking at amps online for about 3 weeks now reading reviews and trying to figure out what setup to dump a grand on. I went to the music store last week and heard a Crate Blue Voodoo head through a cheap Crate 2-12 cab. I liked they way the head sounded even through shitty speakers but I was thinking about getting the Blue Voodoo head with a good Crate 2-12 cab with Vintage 30's in it. But I would like to know anyone's opinion if this a sufficient setup for acheiving a Gilmourish Sound. Or with only about 1200 dollars to spend what head/2-12 cab tube amp setup would be good for recreating that Floyd sound. but I also enjoying playing my metallica/pantera too and i have been told a good overdrive pedal can beef up the distortion on the Blue Voodoo a little for that harder sound. well i would appreciate anyone knowledable on this subject's opinion. thx,

Blake

I own a BV 120... and I love it..

I have the 4x12 BV cab though.

It's definately a "bluesyer" or dirtier amp than Dave would use, but I play a lot of blues..

I push my signal through a Digitech RP200A effects pedal and clean it up a bit and get pretty close to Dave's sound.

You could do a lot worse than a Blue Voodoo.
