I don't know a lot of those songs. But if you want a Mars Volta song for it, I'd go with Cicatraz ESP. It has a long, spacy instrumental part. Very Floydian I suppose.

Nutopia, I would say Queensryche's "Anybody Listening?" is probably the most Gilmour-esque they got. Their guitarist (DeGarmo) is a very big Floyd fan, and comes from the Gilmour school of guitariry (that's what I call people who sound influenced by Gilmour's unique guitar style).

Here's a thought :: How about the reason/rationale behind how/why you think said song is 'influenced' by Floyd ?

Fair enough Simon: 1. Radar Brothers - Mountains (this track reminds me of Breathe from Dark Side of the Moon, particularly the piano interludes. The song excels from its rather eerie sound, the out-of-time repeated lyrics, the 7/4 (7/8?) time measure, and the wonderfully placed whistling of frontman Jim Putnam.) 2. Comets on Fire - Brotherhood of the Harvest (makes great use out of a ghostly organ and guitar progression. sounds like it could've been on Obscurred by Clouds) 3. Secret Machines - Pharaoh's Daughter (very Floyd-ish. sounds like they lifted some of the chord changes from Breathe. and that's not a bad thing.) 4. Radiohead - Lucky (the chorus is very grand, with what kinda sounds like a slide guitar cutting through and the gregorian chant style background vocals) 5. Black Label Society - Dead Meadow (a very mellow acoustic/piano song that, to my ears, sounds very Floyd influenced) 6. Porcupine Tree - Lips of Ashes (kind of a Welcome to the Machine vibe, but instead of synths dominating the track, it's just an acoustic guitar and some interesting guitar work. Steven Wilson has a really cool guitar effect going on here.) 7. Ween - Back to Basom (Listen to the synth come in towards the end. Almost exactly like Shine On You Crazy Diamond.) 8. The Kingsbury Manx - Castle (this sounds like it was influenced by Fearless or Wot's...Uh, The Deal.) 9. Alan Parsons Project - Time (It might not sound Floyd-ish to some, but I can't deny it. Alan Parsons sounds like Rick Wright.) 10. Gov't Mule - Silent Scream (this sounds very Gilmour influenced. just listen.) 11. Archive - Again (never heard this band before in my life, but this song is really frickin' good. it's another "Welcome to the Machine" kinda song, but it goes on forever. 9 minutes later, i'm still not sick of it.) 12. Cave In - Innuendo and Out the Other (really good space-rock. these dudes used to play a really brutal type of metal. this sounds like they smoked a lot of pot while listening to Pink Floyd and said "let's try something different".) 13. Opeth - Weakness (a haunting song, to me it could be a Wall outtake.) 14. Dream Theater - The Spirit Carries On (this song starts off very Floyd-esque, but developes into something not so Floyd. the female backup singers are a nice touch.)
