Re: What Did You Do Today?

Just got back from Albany this morning. Nice weekend away but good to be home. Glad My car made it. On the NY State Thruway it started shakin' if I pushed it over 80 miles per hour. Hoping its just a bad spark plug but I gotta' get it checked out this week its been a little sluggish lately but it was fine unless I pushed it above 80. Did a lot of Drinkin' this weekend. Mostly Beer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeungling Lager a little Red Wine with dinner yesterday and a Jameson Irish Whiskey nightcap. Woke up feelin' a little out of sorts today and made the 4 hour journey back to the city of brotherly Love today. Got to get dinner together next.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Spent a long, exhausting day in the ER. We were short staffed and I think everyone and their grandpa were trying to get admitted into it. Docs wouldn't STOP reffering their patients to us. It was ridiculous. Monday's really suck!

I haven't had anything to eat since 6 am this morning and managed to pee just once.

Me hungry. Me go eat something.

Sent off a couple of grand to the IRS and Colo Dept of Revenue.

Had to go to bank to deposit March taxes withheld.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

I spent the whole day repairing some of my sisters old pants because I didn't want to spend my hard earned money for a new pair. of course, my mom didn't want me to use her sewing machine so I had to do it all by hand. I managed to hurt myself with pins at least 50 times, but hey, free pants!

Re: What Did You Do Today?

The last thing of any sort of moderate importance I have done was on Wednesday night when I took my hermit crab, Charles Manson, for a ride on my James the Red Engine playset. I took the black Lego out of the tender(supposed to be coal, you know) and put Charlie in there and gave him rides around the living room. I don't know if he digs Thomas and his friends as much as I do though. He seemed rather pissed off about the whole episode.

I also took pictures of everything.

Everything since is a blur...one that I don't place much importance on trying to recall.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

I watched my dumb yet hilarious classmates kick a monitor around [yes, a monitor. quite old, though. the main Mr.Football claimed to have "found it"]. gosh, that was something. even "somethinger" was when my English teacher walked in and noticed the little twisted "let's kick the monitor and then jump on it" game. she looked stunned.
cool, because our next lesson was English, you see.
the English teacher kindly told Mr. Football to sit next to the open the window, because, er, his behaviour apparently had a pretty gross smell. weird.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Get well Lily!

Today I have been rehearsing for the play that we will perform next Friday in Barcelona. I provide a kind of "soundscape" with my electric guitar in two parts of the play. The first soundscape is quite melodic and it is in fact a structure built around two or three chord progressions (though it is not a "song" properly speaking). The second one is much more abstract and it consists mainly in lots of delay and loops which get more and more distorted every time (the action here is a kind of adaptation from Kafka's metamorphosis so I take an initial melody and then I play around with it and my effects til it becomes something rather weird).

There are also a piano player and a violoncelist involved but they do their number and I do mine, we don't get to play together.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Tiring day.

Obnoxious patients left right and center.

Didn't realise this till today - if a drunk comes into our ER, we can't let her go (even if she so states clearly that she wants to) untill blood alcohol levels comes to within legal limits. If we let em go, and they get hit by a bus or a cab, they can sue our pants off.

I think it's fucking stupid.

Ran two codes - I got my ass chewed out on the second one. I was in SUCH a hurry to switch an IV solution bag that I got careless, I pulled the tubing straight off the bag without inverting it first.

As a result, half the code team got drenched with saline solution.

The code director later on discreetly pulled me aside and promptly bit into my ass and tore me a new one.

The guy didn't survive the code - no way he could have anyways. Self-inflicted hanging - paramedics found him 10 minutes later. Wouldn't have mattered, cartilage had sliced his pons. Dude was clinically brain dead even before the ambulance hit the hospital.

We later discovered that he'd attached the rope to a wire/chain he wore around his neck. Ick! Now I know how a hanging with piano wire would look like!

I'm tired but I got four papers to write.

geesh!
