Re: What Did You Do Today?

Opened a new checking account here in the midwest - guess that means I'm kinda settling down here permanent like huh? Need to open another one for savings/international transactions but I'll leave that one for Saturday.

Looked at this insane list of forms I need to get filled out for immigration!
Looked at a list of doctors in the area from whom I need to get the physical exam done for the federal government - of the hundreds listed in the county, naturally only ONE is in my vicinity I'm trying to estimate the cost of the physical exam + payment to federal government for filing of paperwork ... I figure that enterprise to cost me $1000 alone. I'm still looking for good immigration lawyers - I suppose they'll cost me $4,000 - $5,000. In anycase, the immigration thing will end up costing me about $6,000 .... and I don't even have my first paycheck yet!!!!

Talked to my director about driving down to Springfield on Friday (I need to miss about half-day work) and throw down with the stupidly incompetent State Board of Nursing. I either walk out of that bloody office with my liscence or I'll burn that place down!

Seriously though, it's been over 6 weeks since I applied for the license. It's taking an absurdly long time for the bastards to stamp a piece of paper and send it over to me. I can't do anything without my license

Getting cold here - windchill has already dropped it to 27 F

I spent the day applying ointment to my forehead, after buring my forehead yesterday. This was due to the heat from the birthday candles on my cake.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Spent hours watching revolutionary re-enactors at Catigny. Spent time exploring the Big Red One museum. Snapped some pictures. Watched them shoot some artillery.

Came away with lungsfull of powersmoke and memories

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Attended a "drive-by shooting" (flu shot in my car), went to the nearby farmer's market and bought some green tomatoes, broccili, califlower & onions.

Currently brewing up a fine-smelling soup consisting mainly of kielbasa and split peas, with some onion, garlic, celery & carrots tossed in.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Today I went to work and avoided doing the most horrible job in the world, for the second time this week. Said silly things and sang songs with a coworker (also a good friend) the whole day. Now I'm going to practice my flute a little, and maybe I'll go out tonight with some friends.

I quite enjoyed it! Lots of twists and turns. Im not a big fan of Di Caprio (ever since Titanic) or Matt Damon for that matter but they gave a reasonable performance. You could pick holes in the script but on the whole not a bad movie.

Anyway..today consisted of me buying a new power saw and doing manly/woodshop ( insert grunt here) things with my new toy.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Finally yesterday I ended up going at my sister's place with a friend from work. We bought beer and rented that last Chucky movie, but we didn't really watch it, it wasn't very good...anyway near the end of the evening, I noticed I had trouble with my voice. When I woke up this morning, my mom kept asking me from downstairs if I wanted to eat pancakes but I couldn't answer, no sound would come out of my mouth! My mom made something for me to drink with honey, lemon juice and gin. I don't believe it will help me recover my voice, but heck I told her to keep 'em coming, they're rather tasty
