Re: What Did You Do Today?

I do appreciate the sympathetic support, folks. Thanks.

Today I dispatched two large chocolate malts back-to-back.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

I'm currently knocking back some imported (and outrageously expensive) Indian brand beer.

It's already the 15th of August back home in India. Today my country turns 58.

So young, and yet so old.

So in about an hours time - I'll stand up, salute my flag in my room, sing the national anthem and then the song all soldiers know by heart - the one dedicated to all our brothers and sisters who aren't amongst the living, but yet without whom, the day would have no meaning.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

today I went to work and had to do the worst thing. it consist of taking the glasses, cups and plates used by the military guys and girls on breakfast when they put it on some sliding thing when they're done eating and I have to take them from the sliding thing to give it to the person who puts them in the washer. Well that sliding thing goes kinda fast for what you have to do and it's really hard to get everything and you have to run all the time. You can't stop the damn thing!! All the time I was doing this, I was yelling in my head STOP!! (I want to go home, take off this uniform......really, I wanted to do that).
Then after I had to clean some really dirty ovens. It wasn't so bad because while I was doing it, I was singing a pretty little song that I invented just for the occasion: "ooooh I need a dirty oven....ooooh I need a dirty grill." The dude working with me found it hilarious and since he knew the original song he started singing it with me. The lady who was in charge of the kitchen that day didn't find it funny.
oh well, I'm happy I only worked 4 hours.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

A good friend of mine is having his 45 birthday in a few weeks, he's Canadian, and a huge Rush fan (yes, a bigger fan than I).

So, for the last few weeks my band and I have been working on sharpening up all of our Rush material. We're going to play a short set for him at his party..

we're doing..

Limelight
Red Barchetta
Leave That Thing Alone
The Pass
Driven
Cygnus X-1
Working Man
La Villa Strangiato
and
Tom Sawyer

Hope he likes it..

Ah, memories of KP at Lackland, many years ago... You're more imaginative than we were, but I think we had the same humorless twit running the place.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

Hmmm.. got up, took my boy to the skate park for an hour or so, played guitar for a bit, cut the grass, went house hunting for a few hours, worked in the yard, took a nap...had dinner, now I'm wasting time online..
