Re: What Did You Do Today?

went to school. my english teacher decided we would go and have class outside because the weather was nice. we went to a park and he asked us to find anything we wanted on the ground and describe it to him in 200 words then we could go. I wrote the sory of the life of an old paper bag. It was very moving.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

I bought a new sound system for my office, since my old one couldn't play a CD without skipping backwards.

I didn't get it either, but it makes sense after peewak explained it.

Re: What Did You Do Today?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

Just got done with first day of clinicals.

HAMMERED I am! LOL! My instructor doesn't know what's going on. The nurses are a harrased lot (one of them pointedly asked us "You still want to get into this field?"). The aides are nowhere to be found! Sheesh!

I was there from 0600 till 1300.

Ond to top it all - our patient is someone so heavy that he needs atleast 2 persons to roll him over (L-Hip replacement). Luckily, we were "teamed up" for this week. Unluckily, my partner is a little wisp of a girl about a 100 lbs or so.... So guess who had the lucky job of rolling him over?

Wouldn't have been so bad were it not for the fact the poor guy is on antibiotics and stool softners and he needs to poop every 30 minutes or so. I got home an hour ago and still faintly catch the whiff of poop

I think I'm getting the hang of things though - charting wise too. What I am NOT getting the hang of yet (in a way) is the "care plan" nonsense that the instructor wants us to hand in every week - that bit is slightly driving me nuts

I'm NOT at all impressed with my School. The organisation/co-ordination seems non-existant. First week into clinicals and my professor doesn't even know that we as Seniors are due to precept Juniors for one week out of the clinical rotation. Aparently, none of her colleagues told her and this is her first semester teaching Seniors. Combine this with arbitrary grading policies and not to mention a coursework that is geared towards preparing students for Grad schoolm rather than the field out there... oh well, get the picture right?

Sorry for the minor rant folks - but I'm hungry, sleep deprived and iritated with how I percieve that we were just left there hanging. I'm pretty proud of how I pulled it off, but I'm still kinda peeved about the whole issue.

Hope everyoine's had a good day so far. I'm gonna take a short nap - I work pat midnight tonight and I have three papers and a quiz due tomorrow morning
